The course is quite fast, with 1.2 mile the swim being a sheltered out and back swim in Fishguard bay protected by its breakwater on both sides. Two laps of the swim see’s swimmers leave the water and entering the water for a second and final lap.
The 56 mile bike course has a small incline with a 3 mile ascent at the start, it is then a fast rolling road into and around the country’s smallest city, St Davids for the first time, then turning to Mathry along a section with uplifting sea views, before going back into St Davids for a second time and onto Fishguard.
The run course of 13.1 miles is four loops around Fishguard has two very steep hills, with the rest being fast and flat. For more information see http://www.walestriathlon.com
