First run in 1981 The Great North Run is now the world’s biggest half marathon which has seen over one million people cross the finish line at South Shields. This year it is on Sunday 10 September, where thousands of runners will take on the 13.1 mile course from Newcastle upon Tyne past many supporters along the route from the iconic Tyne Bridge, out to the coast at South Shields.

The route takes runners through the city centre and over the Tyne Bridge, where the Red Arrows fly past overhead. From there runners travel through Gateshead and on to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road they get the first view of the sea from there it is just over a mile to the end, where the crowds get louder as runners make their way down the final straight towards the finish line.

Personalised London marathon medal picture frame

As you would expect a very well organised marathon through the streets of London, which was first run in 1981. The course is flat and takes in many of the famous sights of London, ending on the Mall right in front of Buckingham Palace.

To enter the Virgin London Marathon you need to apply through a ballot system, even the ballot system fills very quickly, if you are successful you will be informed in October, which gives you some time to get your training in.

The Virgin London Marathon is also open to elite wheelchair disabled athletes, and 11 to 17 year olds who can run the Giving Mini London Marathon, which is a three mile course. A lot of the big UK charities may have places available if you agree to raise an agreed amount of sponsorship for them. Do not forget whichever way you run the London Marathon; think about running it and raising funds for a charity large or even better small, which are often overlooked.

Marvin Puddle Dog With Ball Picture Frame

This is a project we helped a customer with. The brief was, to have a dogs tennis ball framed with a picture of the dog and a small plaque added to the front of the frame. We worked with the customer by email, firstly asking what ideas they had, we then exchanged emails with design graphics until the customer was happy with the final design. The design we agreed on was a 99F brown wood-grain frame, with a 75mm antique white lined spacer frame.

On this occasion the customer sent us the the dogs tennis ball with a photograph of the dog to frame for them, this is the result. If you would like help to a frame an unusual item please contact us.
